Last night we made reservations for tonight at the Enderlin Inn in Enderlin, ND. We were slightly dismayed to learn that Enderlin did not have its own 4th of July celebration. This morning it occurred to us that we could use a day off and we would like to see how Fargo celebrates the 4th. So we will be here until Sunday. (The lady at the Enderlin Inn was nice about moving our reservation.)
This is Fargo from our hotel room this morning. Quite a bit quieter than the lively street science last night. You can see the haze from the Saskatchewan forest fires. We were happy to use the health advisory as another reason to take it easy today.
So we spent the day wandering around downtown Fargo. We accomplished 4 missions: have breakfast, purchase a belt, have lunch, and purchase a loaf of bread. The first three were fairly easily accomplished, but the loaf of bread proved surprisingly challenging. Grocery stores do not abound in downtown; bakeries were either closed for the day or before we thought of this idea. The solution was a health food store.
We couldn't resist having lunch at the Wurst Bier Hall. We found North Dakota beer surprisingly tasty.
