It was just an ordinary rest day in Chicago. Breakfast at West Egg and a walk down the Magnificent Mile to Millenium Park, with the Art Institute as our intended destination.
We ogled the architecture,
listened to a rehearsal at the Jay Pritzker Pavillion,
took our obligatory photographs of the "Bean", all the while wondering why a dozen helicopters hovered overhead.
All of a sudden the street was filled with cheering Blackhawks fans. Apparently, there was a parade and an "event" at Soldier Field to celebrate the Stanley Cup.
Even the Art Institute's lions got in on the celebration.
The Art Institute has some amazing collections and the views in and out of the building are amazing.
We spent enough time on our feet today that it may feel good to be back on the bikes.
We are going to dinner at The Kitchen Chicago, recommended to us by a friend who lives here.
